ZOONEYFESThas been established to provide financial assistance to persons faced with critical, life changing needs in the Southern Tier. Joe Zunic is the man responsible for this amazing event. Through ZOONEYFEST, he was able to touch the lives of countless people. Joe's battle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, ended on January 4, 2008. Although he is no longer with us, his legacy will live on through ZOONEYFEST. ZOONEYFEST is an annual event aimed at raising awareness and financial support for people living in the Southern Tier facing life-changing events and the organizations that support them.
In 2005 the inaugural ZOONEYFEST raised funds for Joe Zunic to offset medical expenses for his battle with ALS. Joe, always the first person to help someone in need, insisted the benefit become an annual event to assist those facing similar circumstances. Joe passed away in January 2008. In celebration of Joe’s legacy, his family and a few thousand of his closest friends are hosting the 8th Annual ZOONEYFEST on September 8th, 2012.
